The JBL Bar 800MK2 is a 7.1-channel soundbar system engineered to deliver immersive home theater sound without the hassle of permanent speaker wiring. Released in mid-2025 as part of JBL’s refreshed MK2 lineup, it acts as a premium, mid-high-end system focused on expansive spatial audio and heavy bass.

- Detachable Wireless Surrounds: True battery-powered rear speakers clip onto the sides of the bar to charge and detach to provide up to 10 hours of active wire-free surround sound. They can also be powered continuously via USB-C or used as standalone Bluetooth speakers.
- Thumping Bass: Comes with a massive, down-firing 10-inch wireless subwoofer pushing 300W of dedicated low-end power.
- Virtual Dolby Atmos & DTS:X: Utilizes 780W of peak power alongside MultiBeam 3.0 technology to map out a highly spatial 3D audio environment. Note: Unlike its predecessor, the MK2 skips dedicated physical up-firing drivers, relying instead on virtual Atmos processing.
- Pure Voice 2.0: A proprietary dialogue enhancement algorithm that prevents movie voices from getting drowned out by loud background effects or explosions.
- Night Listening Mode: A clever feature that mutes the main bar and subwoofer entirely, routing the audio strictly through the detached rears right next to you so you can watch movies at night without waking up others.
